Black Veil Brides EP “The Night” review.

It's been almost a year since Black Veil Brides released their last album “Vale”. The album reached #14 in US Billboard 200 chart and hit the top in US Top Hard Rock Albums; however, it was an average record in comparison with “Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones”.

Now we are facing brand-new EP “The Night” which was released on November 29, 2019, and includes two tracks — “Saints of The Blood” and “Vengeance”. This is their first record with a new bassist — Lonny Eagleton.

Ok, let’s take a close look on these tracks.

  • “Saints of The Blood”. The opening riff reminds us of “Perfect Weapon” from “Set The World On Fire”. This is a solid track with amazing shred chops from Jake Pitts and melodic vocals that perfectly fit the atmosphere of the song. We can see Andy Biersack has improved both his vocal and composing skills.
  • “Vengeance”. This song sounds more like the track from their previous album; however, it has some “Wretched and Divine” vibes, especially in the beginning. One more thing, the guitars sound like Avenged Sevenfold, especially in the part of the song, where Jake and Jinxx use the chromatic scale.

Anyway, the band went back to its roots and I’m really glad that this happened.

All in all, this is an excellent EP which is worth to listen. Even though they had to deal with a lot of problems, including parting ways with their former bassist Ashley Purdy, they are still making beautiful and amazing music and I’m looking forward to hearing their new LP in 2020.
